Sean Clifford Earns Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Penn State fans were waiting for Sean Clifford to have his break out game in his first season as the Penn State starting quarterback. That game came on Friday night against Maryland, and for that performance, Sean Clifford took home Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors.
For the game, Clifford threw for 398 yards, which set a school record for a Penn State quarterback in a road contest. He also had four total touchdowns, including his first career rushing touchdown in the 59-0 victory.
So far in 2019, Sean Clifford has 1,179 passing yards, nine touchdowns to just one interception, and a 66 percent completion percentage. He is averaging 5.2 yards per carry on 32 rushing attempts this season.
